Back to school looks a little different this year for two reasons: Kenley will be in full day Kindergarten making BOTH kids full time, and I will also be going back as well! In case you missed it on Instagram, I have recently accepted a full time teaching position at the kids school, starting in just a couple of weeks! This has brought on some summer projects that I want to get done like clean out my closet and organize my work wardrobe. I have also been busy making lists and brainstorming back to school goals as we enter a new season of life over here!
I just started using Lara Casey’s Powersheets – the 6 month edition. I bought it when they were on sale to try out, and I am loving it so far! Coupled with my Emily Ley Simplified Planner, I will be in good shape! Since I accepted the job two weeks ago, I have been busy writing out lists and goals to try to prepare for this transition. Did you know that you are 42% more likely to accomplish things if you write them down?* I write everything on Post-it® products and then use them in my planner and my Powersheets!
Post-it® Super Sticky Notes Lined are my absolute favorite, and most used. They fit perfectly into the pocket of my planner for when I need to make a list, and I like writing visible goals and putting them at the beginning of the month.
Once I get a good handle on some goals for the month, I transfer them over to my Powersheets, and leave the Post-it® note on my monthly planner page.
Powersheets can be a little overwhelming if you have never used them. After watching some of Lara’s Facebook Live videos and following their Instagram, I began to get a little more confident about how these would work for me. Before I wrote down what I wanted in my Powersheets book, I did some brainstorming on these Post-it® Cubes notes.
I also use the Post-it® Cubes at the end of the week to remind me to add in dates to my planner. The kids will bring home class newsletters with snack calendars and their library days, so I want to make sure I don’t miss these! These are perfect for small brainstorming sessions and reminders. Additionally, I keep these Post-it® Cubes and Pads next to my desk in my office as well, that way I can jot things down from emails or texts if my planner isn’t right next to me. I also print things and tape them with Scotch® Magic™ Tape into my planner, or take appointment cards for my next haircut and tape them in so I don’t have to rewrite them.
Another of my favorite goal tracking products is the Post-it® Flags. I am going to have to stay very diligent and focused to keep my workouts in check, so these flags help me plan out my workouts so I can get a handle on the big picture before I make my calendar for the month.
Check out all of these products at your local Walmart!
It’s going to be a big transition, but I can set myself up for success by putting my goals front and center with Post-it® products. Are you prepping for any big school changes this fall?
