Comfort is my middle name, and I could not be happier that fall weather is finally here! I love layering, leggings, boots– you name it! With fall being my busiest season for my photography business, plus Brandon’s busy season of harvest, it ends up being kind of a whirlwind. The weekends are busy with sessions, farming, and getting ready for another week. Monday’s are usually my “recovery” day– here’s how I spend them while still being comfortable.
5am: Alarm goes off. I have a date with Shaun T and Insanity Max 30 to start the day. Then I quickly shower, throw on my Cuddl Duds, pack Brandon and Brayden’s lunches, and get everyone out the door. Then I head to work at the airport until about 10:45am.
Kenley gets off the bus around 11:30am, so the time in between I do something quick like schedule some social media posts, check/respond to emails, or unload the dishwasher. I learned to utilize those pockets of time productively, and it’s made a huge difference. When Kenley gets home, we have lunch together. Afterwards, she likes to color while I work or help me cook/bake. I try not to work all of my afternoons away because I only have one more year of it.
She LOVES to read books, so when we wait for Brayden to come home, we snuggle up and read. When he gets off the bus they like to have a snack. We do homework if he has any, and then I spend about 45 minutes working while they play together. By working I mean switching laundry, prepping dinner, cleaning out backpacks, tidying up the bathrooms, and all of the other things that need done but 5 minutes later look like I never did. #momlife
My editing all takes place in my office downstairs, but from my laptop I can schedule blog posts, website updates, check emails, etc. Then it’s time for dinner, showers, and bed for the kids.
When they go to bed, I curl up on the couch in either the living room or in our bonus room and continue writing/working for awhile. Brandon has been putting in some late nights, and while I miss him, I do like the extra 2-3 hours I have in the evenings to work. Sometimes Netflix or reading trumps work because I have to unwind. Either way, this ME time is something I really enjoy!
The best part about days like this is not only my productivity level but that Cuddl Duds goes with me. From work to home to snuggling the kids to working from home, these clothes are the perfect go-to for a busy day. The leggings are incredibly soft and the black tunic will be a staple for me all fall and winter long! When it gets colder, I plan to add a vest and scarf, and I will still be ready for whatever my day throws at me.
Kohl’s has an amazing selection of Cuddl Duds in their stores. I am already scoping out my next pieces! I have gotten so much use out of these and I know as the months get colder, I will be wearing these constantly. They are perfect for layering! I wore Cuddl Duds in college (thanks, Mom!) when walking to class in the freezing cold. I loved them then and I am loving them now, even though my day to day looks slightly different than it did 10 years ago. When you are comfortable, anything can happen!
