One of the features that I love the most about our home is the tile floor in the kitchen. I had never had tile before and I love how easy it cleans up! I confess, I don’t deep clean it as much as I should, but most of the time I feel like it’s pointless with the kids running around. (Please tell me I am not the only one!)
After having fantastic experiences using essential oils in last several months, I decided to take the deep cleaning matters to an entirely new level and make my own floor cleaner. I am thrilled with the results (not to mention the scent!) AND I am pairing it with my new favorite cleaning tool– the O-Cedar MicroTwist™ mop.
DIY Floor Cleaner
1 gallon hot tap water
1/4 cup vinegar
15 drops essential oils
In a bucket, combine the hot water and the vinegar. Then add in the essential oils. I used 5 drops of peppermint, lavender, and lemon.
Then, place your O-Cedar MicroTwist™ mop in the bucket, let it absorb the cleaner, twist it to wring it out, and you are ready to clean your floors. This mop has an extra large head- 16 inches- so it cleans 75% more area at a time.
It’s super absorbent and cleans up dirt and dust on the first pass thanks to it’s microfiber head. The mop head is easy to replace, too- it just twists right off!
Between the kids, my hubby tracking in dirt, holiday baking, and did I mention the kids- my kitchen floor easily gets the most traffic in our house. Thanks to O-Cedar MicroTwist™ mop and my essential oils, I can get the floors clean quickly and almost effortlessly. An added bonus is that I am not using any harmful chemicals, and the combination of these oils smells amazing.
