Printable Kid’s Chore Chart

Summer is here and we are off doing all kinds of things like baseball, swimming, and playing with my nephew. He’s pretty cute & distracting! I looked around at the end of last week and realized that all of our go-go-going has led to some cluttering and our chores not getting done quite like they are during the school year.

Part of me just wants to go “It’s SUMMER! We were cooped up ALL WINTER!” but the other part of me knows that I have to set a good example and find a balance between doing all the fun things and keeping the house cleaned up. I have seen chore charts on Pinterest and decided I was going to make my own- one for each kiddo- and assign them jobs I knew they could complete.

As you can see, some of these jobs aren’t daily (however I DO LOVE that Brayden dusts the TV stand so it might stay that way just for good practice!) but they are appropriate for their age level AND they take a little bit of the brunt off of me.

It leaves me time to scrub the dirty dishes in the sink, tidy up the floors, deep clean the bathrooms– all things that need to be done, but that they can’t quite do yet. Plus, the better we are at keeping up the house means the more fun we can have this summer.

I really try to make our bed every day and I think it’s the first “chore” Brayden ever had. It’s a great starting point for Kenley, and it’s so cute when she is done, she always wants me to come check it out.

Brayden has an interesting method for making his bed (as evidenced by my sister) but hey, it’s not about perfection.

Yes, we stay busy this summer but I want to teach the kids that being busy and having a clean, decently picked up, LIVED IN home is important, too! New Palmolive® Fusion Clean™ dish liquid provides a Modern Twist on Cleaning™, which is kind of how I view my cleaning- modern. We LIVE in this home, it’s not a show piece nor do I expect it to be perfection. I do have OCD tendencies and sometimes I have to let those slide, but overall I want my kids to learn responsibility and to be good stewards of the things that they have.

With new Palmolive® Fusion Clean™ in Baking Soda and Lime (found at Kroger or other banner stores!) it’s okay if the dishes don’t get rinsed right away if we are trying to beat the sunset for one more round of baseball. It’s unique formula removes 24 hour stuck-on food– so less stress on me. It’s also available in Baking Soda and Grapefruit! Palmolive® Fusion Clean™ PLUS my kiddos now help keep my house a little tidier for summer so we can keep tackling all of the fun things on our list.”

Find it at Kroger (or Ralph’s, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less) in the cleaning aisle and from 6/12 – 6/25, use THIS COUPON for $0.50 off 22oz+ bottles!

Maybe a chore chart would help my daughter be a little more motivated in helping me when I ask. I'm going to have to give that a try!
