Kate is at the crossroads of her life– both in her career and in her personal life. She has a fiance, but she still feels like something is missing, she just can’t put her finger on it. She recently lost her job as a reporter and doesn’t know where to turn next.
Enter the opportunity of a lifetime- a handwritten note asking her to interview Emma Daines. Emma is a retired professor and former US Ambassador with an extensive history that the media could never get to. She is known for being suspicious of journalists, yet holds a secret that all journalists have been trying to find out. This interview could be the start of something huge in Kate’s life, but she doesn’t want to be the typical journalist. Little does she know how things will change when she gets ahold of Emma’s personal memoir!
Kate gets to know Emma over a weekend that is full of triumph and learning, time to ponder and reflect on what she is really going to do next with her life. As it turns out, these women have something in common, but it takes all weekend to figure out just what bonds them together.
This book hooked me pretty early on. It holds so much mystery that I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next! It’s very inspirational and captivating– definitely recommend!
