Brayden has been on spring break this week, and we have really enjoyed having some down time. Last Friday it was a beautiful 65 degrees, and we made the most of it! We were pretty much outside all day, and the kids were beat! We played at the airport with my parents dog, Brayden rode his bike from the airport to my parents house and back (1 mile roundtrip) and watched as they put the wings on my brother’s airplane. Exciting stuff for a 4 and 2 year old.
On Monday, I surprised the kids with a trip to LegoLand at Woodfield Mall. My sister and I loaded them up and didn’t tell them where we were going until we got there, and they were definitely excited.
Important note: If you are ever going to go there, buy your tickets online ($2 discount per ticket) and print them yourself! We got to skip part of the line since we had reserved a time slot to arrive and already had our tickets.
Due to it being spring break up north (I think?) LegoLand was PACKED. So packed. The kids loved it, and I was really, really glad I took my sister for a second set of hands! It really is a neat place to visit, and don’t miss the 4D movie!
After Lego Land, we hit Target (of course!) and I was pleased to find that they had a buy one, get one 50% off shoes sale going on, so I got the kids stocked up for spring/summer. Brayden was in need of new tennis shoes, and Kenley needed cute sandals to go with her Easter Dress. Target for the win, as always. Shockingly, I didn’t purchase anything for myself, but my sister reminded me that my closet size is about to change drastically, and it was really for the better.
The last surprise of the day was meeting Tricia and N for fro-yo. It definitely wasn’t a long enough visit, but it was so fun to see them, even if it was quick!
Being on spring break with the temperature hovering around 30 degrees isn’t that much fun, but I will admit that we made the most of it this week!
